October 1st, FARGO® will be launching select new ribbons for our DTC1250e, DTC1500 and DTC4500e ID card printers. Key benefits of the new YMCKO, YMCKO Half and YMCKOK ribbons include:
- Improved dye formulation for superior color quality: Brighter whites, darker blacks and an enhanced color profile for more vivid imagery and crisper text
- Higher capacity: Simplifies workflow and increases productivity as higher-yield consumables require less frequent ribbon changes
- More sustainable: Smaller ribbon cores and eco-friendly packaging (coming soon) support green initiatives, ensuring less material ends up in landfills
The information provides detailed information regarding our next generation print ribbons and includes a part-number conversion table so you can easily determine which part numbers will be changing with this upcoming launch. In addition to the FAQ, you will also find updated Consumables Specification Sheets for the DTC1250e, DTC1500 and DTC4500e card printers.
As a reminder, only select YMCKO, YMCKOK, and YMCKO Half Panel ribbons and their associated part numbers for the DTC1250e, DTC1500 and DTC4500e will be released on October 1. Additional ribbons for these and other FARGO DTC printers will be released in 2026 as noted below:
- Q1 2026: DTC4250e consumable part numbers for the new dye set for YMCKO, YMCKO Half and YMCKOK ribbons will be released
- Q2 2026: C50 and DTC5500LMX consumable part numbers for the new dye set for YMCKO, YMCKO Half and YMCKOK ribbons will be released
- Q3 2026: Part numbers for the new dye set for YMCFKO ribbons (for use with all printer models listed above) will be released
